TALent Medical Communications Ltd is the progeny of TALent Medical Writing cc,
a company established by Dr Tracey Lambert in 1992. Dr Lambert
is a New Zealand-trained doctor who practised medicine for 6 years before
changing her career in 1991, when she began working as a medical writer for a
busy medical communications company in the United Kingdom.
Having immigrated to South Africa in late 1991, she set up TALent Medical Writing, to enable her to continue to provide high-quality, well-written and thoroughly referenced copy to the pharmaceutical industry (initially in South Africa) on a free-lance basis.
In 1997, Dr Lambert returned to New Zealand, where she was employed for ~2˝ years at Adis International, a medical publishing company in the Walters Kluwer group. She was primarily involved with computer-based projects intended to aid U.S. physicians in clinical practice. Dr Lambert helped develop a concept for a computerized physician decision-support tool (‘Clineguide’), and was later part of a team of clinical editors who developed disease content for the tool. Clineguide is now in full development (www.clineguide.com).
In late 1999, seeking diversity from the very academic nature of Clineguide content, Dr Lambert left Adis international. She again decided to pursue a career as a free-lance medical writer, and thus set up TALent Medical Communications Ltd.
